What is InHouseDigitalPublishing ?
IHDP is a program which converts PDF files into digital edition. IHDP reads and converts any PDF file into a "flash movie" .
Which MS operating systems IHDP can run on?
IHDP runs on Windows XP and Windows Vista.
Are any special programs needed to run IHDP software?
No.
How IHDP can published and distributed?
IHDP can be published on the Internet, or distributed on CDs, DVDs or any other media.
The trial version has been used, and now I bought the software, what should I do?
Please uninstall the trial version before installing the full application.
The IHDP software cannot be installed
Only the administrator of the PC where IHDP is to be installed, has the rights to do so. Please make sure the administrator is the person who's logged in on the PC before installation.
Is there any way to make the demo of an IHDP last longer when run from the trial version?
No, but the time limitation only appears in the trial version.
An installed antivirus program blocks IHDP. What to do?
Please allow the antivirus program to run the IHDP file in question. This is typically done in the "options" menu in the antivirus program. The files have been included into the "trusted zone" in the latest releases by companies such as McAfee, Antivir, Norton and Trend Micro.
Can IHDP be installed and run on a MAC?
Not at the moment.
Can the IHDP logo be removed from the software?
Yes .in the full version of the program but not in the trial version.
Can other formats than PDF be imported into IHDP?
At this moment the application only supports PDF files.
IHDP won't import the chosen PDF file
- All PDF files must be created as single pages
- All pages must have the same dimensions
- No crop and bleed marks
- Embed all fonts into the PDF
- Minimum resolution 100DPI
- Please close all other programs using your PDF, before uploading
- Please make sure that the PDF has a web friendly name with no characters.
- Please save the PDF FILE without any password-protection before importing it into IHDP.
What is the quality of the chosen PDF?
The quality of the chosen PDF file can be decided during the creation of the IHDP. For the best visual result, please choose a PDF file with a resolution higher than 1OODPI. Also, The PDF file might have some postscript incompatibilities with IHDP, therefore please try the following: Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat, choose the menu Advanced -> Print Production -> PDF Optimizer. From the “Make compatible with” menu, select “Acrobat 5 and later” (higher or lower choices might work better, depending on the PDF file). Press OK, exit Adobe Acrobat, and import the PDF file into IHDP again.
Are there any limitations to the size of the PDF?
IHDL can handle any size of PDF files.
Is there any support included in the Licenses?
Yes. Please address all communication to support@ihdp.com.
Will IHDP automatically notify the user with a new release?
Yes, IHDP will notify the user of this when the program begins, and we'll also notify our customers by e-mail.
Can extra pages be added to a finalized IHDP?
Yes, the pages can be merged into the original PDF file.
Does IHDP support OCR -Optical Character Recognition?
No, but a possible solution is to run the OCR process in Adobe Acrobat, save the PDF file, and import it into IHDP again.
Why IHDP won’t show the chosen background image?
Please make sure you used the following formats: JPG, PNG, SWF and BMP, and images have to be in RGB colors
Can new buttons be added or changed?
Yes. New buttons can be created or changed.
Can IHDP import bookmarks from the original PDF file?
Yes. All bookmarks are shifted to IHDP during import.
Which formats of videos can be imported into IHDP?
IHDP can convert: FLV SWF, MPEG, AVI, M4P,
How are links from the original PDF file imported into IHDP?
On the "Pages/Links" tab, click on the link icon next to a page - under the menu "Tools" the option "Import Links" can be found.
